Lakeview Energy LLC, and its entities, are looking for a Commercial Commodities Manager for our Merrill, Iowa location! Our plant is 20 miles northeast of Sioux City in the heart of some of the Corn Belt's most productive corn producing land. The site is 57 acres on the north side of Merrill and adjacent to the BNSF mainline railroad, was purchased by the founders with the intent to develop both a nameplate 50 million gallons of undenatured ethanol per year (mgy) ethanol plant with the capability to expand.
Operating from its location in western Iowa, the plant is well positioned to serve local markets as well as current and anticipated markets in western and southwestern United States. With high energy and fuel prices and an increasing demand for ethanol as a fuel additive and extender, an attractive opportunity exists for well conceived and designed ethanol projects to become a part of this country's energy mix.
The Commodities Manager is responsible for the procurement of corn and the management of outbound dry distillers grains (DDG), Wet Distillers Grains, Corn Oil, Corn Syrup, and other ethanol co-product sales.
Essential Job Functions
-Procurement of corn
-Sets up customer contracts and shipping logistics, manages inventory accuracy.
-Works with customers and potential customers to increase local sales of this product.
-Works with consulting firm to market and clear inventory not sold locally.
-Works with Plant Manager to establish co-product pricing, monitor market movements, and respond accordingly.
-Works with Accounting to accurately record transactions and problem solve exceptions.
-Responsible for updating and maintaining accurate inventory records, and the timeliness and accuracy of transactions for all incoming commodities and outgoing products.
-Utilizes spreadsheets for tracking some commodities/products.
-Verifies accuracy of freight billing amounts for railcars of corn.
-Coordinates regular website updates regarding Commodities information
-Learns, understands, and complies with applicable plant safety rules and regulations at all times and actively participates in regular safety training and testing.

-Bachelor’s degree in applicable field, 5+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis
-Prefer management experience
-Experience in the operation of an ethanol plant is preferred
-Ability to work in a cooperative, team-based workplace
-Develop and maintain external relationships
-Capable to work at elevated heights and in various climates
-Read, write, and understand English
-Must have valid driver’s license
-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
