Glacial Lakes Energy, LLC is seeking a Chief Financial Officer who is a proactive, critical and creative thinker and is driven to "get things done". 

The CFO provides financial leadership by directing the fiscal functions of the company including financial management, tax planning, and enterprise risk management in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry.  In tandem with the CEO and the Senior Management Team, the CFO plays a key role in the evaluation of strategic initiatives and seeks to foster ethical and responsible decision-making processes, appropriate management methodologies, and world‐class corporate governance practices.   Employment for this position is conditioned upon successfully passing certain pre-employment requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization’s fiscal function and performance.
  • Utilize a solid understanding of commodities risk management and hedging to assist in setting strategic direction and initiatives which produce measurable results,      while holding others accountable to established prudent risk management policies and principles.
  • Develop and provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends and results to assist the CEO, the Board and members of the senior management team in performing their responsibilities.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the company’s internal control systems to maintain or improve the integrity and effectiveness of the operation.
  • Provide key financial input and leadership on strategic decision-making opportunities such as joint ventures, new product lines, acquisitions, or alliances.
  • Establish strong working relationships with banks and other finance-related parties, auditors, regulators, and other external consultants.
  • Work with tax consultants to develop tax planning strategies for the benefit of the parent company and its shareholders.
  • Oversee the cash management and treasury function including the relationships with banks and lenders.
  • Manage the enterprise risk management (insurance, credit and collection policies, etc.) to minimize loss.
  • Attend Board and Subcommittee meetings; including being the lead staff on the Audit/Finance Committee and the engagement of auditors and other financial and   regulatory consultants.
  • Communicate, engage, and interact with the Board of Directors, GLCP shareholders, and Senior Management Team.
  • Supervise, motivate, and lead the finance and IT teams.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient in understanding of the commodity based agricultural processing and market and hedging dynamics.
  • Strong managerial ability and ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and manage multiple priorities and maintain    attention to detail
  • Maintain strong financial controls and budget discipline, as well as safeguard the Company’s financial interests and maintain the confidence of the CEO and Board through timely, accurate and thorough reporting of financial information
  • Prior experience managing the finance functions including: accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting including corporate treasury functions    
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university required
  • Completion of a master's degree at an accredited college or university or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to details
  • Good people management skills and overall business managerial skills
  • Must have up to date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications
