We are currently hiring for a Production Manager to join our team. The Production Manager is responsible for the operation of the plant to ensure production optimization and maximizing product quality along with production efficiency, maximizing production rates and minimizing down time.  The Production Manager is responsible for assisting with all aspects of plant operations, assisting with assurance of all safety regulations and compliance, daily production schedules as well as plant personnel scheduling.  Ensures operational consistency through the use of training, appropriate staffing and supervision, and development of SOP’s. 

Duties will be performed personally or through subordinate Leads to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, and in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and requirements.  The Production Manager will support all policies, goals and objectives of the company.

Primary Job Functions

  • Oversee plant production to ensure operational consistency through the use of training, staffing, and the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate work duties and scheduling of operational staff with the assistance of Production Shift Leads to ensure plant functions are completed successfully and the operators are adequately trained, equipped and motivated.
  • Facilitate effective communication and positive working relationships between departments and with peers, superiors, and subordinates. Coordinate with other departments to ensure the accomplishment of overall plant goals.
  • Conducts semi-annual performance appraisals and regularly scheduled 1:1’s with employees. Participate in the interviewing and selection process of new employees.
  • Communicate regularly with all Leads and production staff.
  • Establish effective training programs for all positions within production.
  • Enforce handbook, safety requirements and all company policies and procedures in coordination with the Plant Manager.
  • Assist Plant Manager in daily tasks required to optimize production and support plant goals. Communicate with Plant Manager regularly and carry out all directives from the Plant Manager.
  • Make recommendations to Plant Manager regarding new technology or ideas that may improve maintenance or operations. 
  • Demonstrate support of the Company’s Engagement Process and live the Company’s Core Values and Guiding Principles.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee records and company matters.
  • Ensure all local, state and federal regulations are being met at all times.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university – Engineering or Technical field of study preferred.
  • 5 or more years manufacturing or processing plant production experience – ethanol processing plant experience preferred. 
  • 3 or more years management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical abilities, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, negotiation skills, dispute resolution and ability to overcome obstacles.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers, use tact and diplomacy, and possess a customer service focus.
  • Position is scheduled Monday through Friday, but must be flexible with schedule and available for on-call support when needed.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Abilities Required

  • May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions.
  • May be required to work in high, precarious places.
  • This job may require lifting of up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Minimal travel as needed
